Q. What is AMIE or TME ?
Ans. AME is Associate Membership Examination of council for idustries engineers (CIIE) examination that is conducted by CIIE . AME is a professional engineering degree certification provided by CIIE or TME is a engineering diploma certification provided by CIIE. It is an alternative option for those who cannot pursue for an engineering degree or diploma course as a regular student in an engineering college.
Q. Is an AME degree or TME diploma equivalent to Engineering Degree or Diploma?
Ans. An AME degree or TME is equivalent to any other engineering degree or diploma approved by Central Government Departments, UPSC, and SSC, AICTE or any other engineering degree approved by state governments. After having done with AME degree or TME diploma, the candidate can also opt for higher studies such as bachelor’s degree after diploma or master’s degree in engineering after AME. The candidates are also then eligible to work with any private or government organization as per their respective field of specialization.
Q. What is CIIE ?
Ans. CIIE is a multi- disciplinary engineering organization that provides a platform to promote professional studies in approximately SEVERAL disciplines of engineering.
Q. What is the advantage of AME or TME over a regular Engineering Course?
Ans. A person who is working can study this course without being affecting their job. The person may be employed in India or Abroad but one may pursue the engineering degree and improve their position and future prospects by passing examinations.
Q. What are the age criteria for a candidate to be elected as a Member?
Ans. The candidate should be 17 years of age on the date of application
Q. Where is the CIIE Examination conducted?
Ans. Examination is conducted in centers in India and abroad. A candidate may appear at any of the centers according to his preference by mentioning the exam centre code of the desired centre in the examination form.
Q. Who is eligible to take CIIE exam?
Ans. The CIIE exam may only be taken by the members of the council for industries engineers of Engineers according to their eligibility and qualifications. To appear for AIEEE, the candidate should be the member of CIIE which is known as Associate Member or Technician/Diploma membership, depending upon stream respectively.

Ans. The duration is 3 hrs for an CIIE exam

Q. When is the CIIE examination held during the year?
Ans. The CIIE examination is held mostly twice a year. It is conducted mostly in June and December and is termed as Summer and Winter Examination respectively.
Q. What is the syllabus of AME or TME?
Ans. The syllabus for AME is almost similar to that of B.E. or B.Tech. The syllabus has two parts, called Section A and Section B. First, Section A should be cleared and then Section B. Similarly TME is almost equivalent to Diploma Engineering. The syllabus has two parts, called Part 1 and Part 2. Part 1 should be cleared and then Part 2
Q. What are Section A and Section B of AME syllabus and Part 1 and Part 2 of TME ?
Ans. Section A or Part 1 consists of fundamentals of Engineering where as in Section B or Part 2 the candidate has to select one of the branches of Engineering available. Project Work and Lab Experiments are included in Section B or Part 2 to pass on practical knowledge to the students
Q. What is the duration of completion of AME or TME ?
Ans. CIIE provides flexibility of duration for completion of Academic Membership. A candidate may take up to 6 years for the completion of all the subjects in Section A or Part 1 another 6 years for the completion of Section B or Part 2.
Q. How many subjects are there in each semester of AME or TME ?
Ans. They have 6 subjects for each semester i.e. one can appear for a maximum of 6 subjects in one semester.
Q. Is AME or TME a computer based exam ?
Ans. AME or TME is a written type where there is no Viva, no internal assessment and no Practical exam
Q. What is the AME or TME exam pattern?
Ans. Each AME exam paper is of three hours of duration. The exact dates and the details of the examination are declared by CIIE website.
Q. Who is the responsible authority for CII Eexam?
Ans. CIIE , conducts exam and issues certificates. The CIIE Institution is not involved in the preparation for the exams.
